    Valley of the Moon

    In the Atacama desert of Chile. With all due respect to friends in La Paz, what is called valley of the moon there doesn't hold a candle to this.
    That Atacama is said to be the driest place on earth with less than 12 mm of rain annually. This part of the desert is in the salt mountains where salt has been mined for a long by time.
    The first pic is across the desert with two dormant volcanoes in the background. Then various views of dunes and formations. The last is a pure salt crystal in the rock.
