Port Lockroy

Former British research station and post office now primarily a tourist location and post office. Started during WW II for research into long distance radio transmission. The original building has been restored as a museum, store and post office to show how things were, including the original equipment for ionosphere research for radio. And yes, the Gentoo penguins are neighbors, including some nests to under the buildings.Read more
