    A reclining Buddha, some 70 meters long. Look closely at the eyes. They are glass, made by Burmese who went to Italy to learn how, just for this purpose. I'm told this may be the only Buddha image anywhere with eyes of glass. It was done be to make the effect more alive. Pictures 2&3 look along the length of the image from both ends. Yes, that is all good leaf. 4th is a large painting showing the life of the Buddha. All around the main image are nearly 100 small images, each unique. They each have different hand gestures. So people come to pray at the image with the gestures appropriate to their situation. The last picture is the image for me. The right hand is in the protection gesture, while the left hand is holding the cloak, indicating travel. Hence this one is for protection while traveling.Read more
