Labuan is a duty free port on its own island located across the bay from Brunei. It had been a British colony before and after WW II.
The 1st picture is of the harbor. 2nd is the memorial Park, with several monuments to local history. The large trees were planted for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. 3rd is the main government building across from the park.
4th is the Labuan military cemetery from WW II. About 3,900 graves, nearly half unknowns from the Borneo death march.
Last is Surrender Point, where the Japanese surrendered to the Australian Army at the end of WW II. This is one of those places that surrendered after the surrender in Tokyo Bay.Read more
