My last stop in Oz. It's back to Vermont from here. Like many places in Australia, Brisbane started as a penal colony. The last pic is one of the buildings built by convicts. It was the store house and the place where new arrivals were processed into the prison. The rest are pics of the city, some of its buildings and the bridge built by the same guy as the Harbor Bridge in Sydney.Meer informatie

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

In Brisbane. Pics of critters unique to Oz. First is a koala. Second is a platypus. That is the best I could get. The critters didn't stay still long enough to get a clear picture. The flying foxes--a large species of bat. The a cassowary, a critically endangered species that is equally critical for the survival for many rain forest plants. Then a dingo and one of Australia's large lizards.Meer informatie
