• Hiking the Fanjing Shan

    October 2, 2022 in China ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

Today we were heading back to Guizhou. Plan was to hike around Fanjing Shan or Mount Fanjing, close to Tongren.
Fanjing Shan is a sacred mountain in Chinese Buddhism, considered to be the bodhimaṇḍa of the Maitreya Buddha. It became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018.
Fanjing Shan is famous for its two temples atop the mountain, connected together by a bridge. We also did hike the other two main points, the Mushroom Stone and the Old Golden Peak.
The weather was very foggy but we were lucky that it opened up after a while.
In the late afternoon we came back to Fenghuang and started again to explore the ancient town with great food and loud music from the bars.
