• Camino 4 Logrona to Santa Domingo

    Today we gave ourselves time to explore more on the journey - what it's all about (when we're not battling time to avoid the heat!)
    Tiny Catholic churches that look simple, stone buildings but inside with whole walls of gold, and then the monastary at Najere, set into the red rocks of this ancient city.
    I'm starting to eat a bit again, with a simple egg baguette for lunch, but still not enough for all this riding. Liz was delighted to find a cherry tree en route to Santa Domingo, just groaning with plump, sweet cherries to gorge on!
    Santa Domingo is small and we're staying in a simple hostel with a lovely host - can't speak any english at all so we converse as best we can, but a real homely feel to his small hotel.
