    Seaton to Charmouth

    May 26 in England ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

An early start, 2 and a half hours drive, then over an hour catching a train and bus. It was all worth it to see the sea! Most of the path to Lyme Regis was through a nature reserve, so plenty of shade, but sadly, no sea breeze. Thought I'd spend some time in Lyme Regis, but after a coffee and a dip in the sea I was out of there! Too busy for me. Finally ended up in Charmouth, tent all set up and enjoying my pint of Guinness. Perfect end to the day on my first solo through hike 🚶‍♀️Read more

  • Charmouth to Burton Bradstock

    May 27 in England ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

What a day! Bad night's sleep, headed off at 7.00 am. without a coffee. Two diversions to manage, of which the signs were rubbish or non-existent. Thank goodness for the locals! Lots of ascent and it reached 30 °. The heat was brutal, and then ended up at a campsite with no showers or shade and paid £16 for the privilege. ( update, there was a shower, but no way was i using it!) The pros....stunning views, tackled Golden Cap, Devon's, highedt point on the SW coast path, the best baked potato and I'm now hiding in the pub to avoid the heat...and tomorrow's meant to be cooler 😎
My day ended better once my tent was in the shade, I watched hares hopping over the field, a bluetit feeding her young and the sunset.

  • Burston Bradstock to outside Weymouth

    May 28 in England ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

A long day, just under 20 miles, but not a bad walk, except for the few miles on the shingles at the start. I set off later than planned as I had to rescue one of the young bluetits and put it back in its nest as it had fallen out and couldn't fly yet. It was 7 miles before I could get my first coffee! I feel as though I'm on a caffeine rehab...let's hope the withdrawals don't start soon 😅 A lunchstop in Abbotsbury to catch up with Sandra snd Steve at their lovely tearoom...The Old Schoolhouse and then fueled with food and cake I set off. I met a lovely lady who recommended a campsite, where I'm currently nestled amongst horses, donkeys and alpacasRead more
