    Colton Point State Park

    29. november 2020, Forente stater ⋅ ☀️ 34 °F

Colton Point State Park is a 368-acre park and is on the west side of the Pine Creek Gorge. It is named for Henry Colton, a Williamsport lumberman who cut timber there starting in 1879 and was also a part of the conservation efforts of the CCC in the 1930s.
We hit the Park reasonably early this morning and decided to hike The Rim Trail, which follows the western edge of the Pine Creek Gorge through the park, linking overlooks and picnic shelters.
Unfortunately it proved to be a bit narrow for Laurie who did not feel comfy enough being "that close to the edge", so we shifted gears and decided to get back onto the Pine Creek Rail Trail, just do a different section.
