Katahdin Lake

Katahdin Lake is a fairly new addition to Baxter State Park, and it is located on newly acquired park land on its eastern side.
The 3.3 miles hike took us almost 2.5 hours as the trail that was identified as Easy/Moderate turned out to be "a tad more" Moderate. (more on that later)
We stepped on a small, narrow beach strip and then ate our lunch and rested at the lean-to.
The area is also a camping site (can be rented for about $21.00/day) and a canoe rental place.Read more
