    When we give someone our time, we actually give a portion of our life that we will never take back

    Alexander the Great, the famous ancient Greek conqueror, played a significant role in the history of Israel, although he did not directly rule over the region.In 332 BCE, Alexander led his army into the Persian Empire, which at the time included the area that is now modern-day Israel. He swiftly defeated the Persian forces and took control of the region, including Judea (a part of what is now Israel). The city of Jerusalem surrendered to Alexander without a fight, and he was welcomed as a liberator by the Jewish high priest.Alexander's conquest brought Hellenistic culture and influence to the area, including the introduction of Greek language and customs. This period is sometimes referred to as the Hellenistic Era.
