Athens - Day 1

Our flight from Toronto Sunday evening brought us to Athens Monday morning. After transfer to our hotel in downtown Athens, we had lunch at a lovely bakery nearby.
We strolled toward the Acropolis passing several historical sites along the way:
Byzantine era Greek Orthodox Church of Kapnicharea, built in the 11 century, one of the oldest churches in Athens
Library of Hadrian
Ancient Agora
Roman Forum
We continued our climb uphill to the entrance of the Acropolis and did a self-guided evening tour:
Odeon of Herodus Atticus
Propylaea
Temple of Athena Nike
Parthenon
Theatre of Dionysus
Erechtheion
We strolled back downhill to our hotel stopping for dinner at one of the many excellent Greek restaurants along the wayOkumaya devam et
