Lincoln Memorial & Reflecting Pool

Arriving at the other end of the mall there was the Lincoln Memorial. Perched high on his chair, he looks over the entire city, the obelisk and its mirror image in the pool. One does not know which of these many presidential monuments is the most imposing. And somehow they all look almost the same: Columns, white marble, clever sayings and quotes, big and impressive. And then I ask myself, how does Donald Trump fit in here?

Am anderen Ende der Mall angekommen gab es dann noch das Lincoln Memorial. Hoch oben auf seinem Stuhl thronend guckt er über die komplette Stadt, dem Obelisken und dessen spiegelbild im Pool. Man weiß gar nicht, welches dieser vielen Präsidenten Monumente jetzt das imposanteste ist. Und irgendwie sehen sie auch fast alle gleich aus: Säulen, weißer Marmor, schlaue Sprüche und Zitate, groß und beeindruckend. Und dann frage ich mich, wie passt Donald Trump hier rein?Read more
