USA East Coast / Ostküste

Today I drove from Philadelphia to Washington. The weather was good. I stopped at a fancy service area and had a quick bite to eat at Wendy's. The roads around Baltimore were extremely crowded. And then I also got a bad migraine. I pulled myself together and just remembered that I had to get here. Because of the hotel. Because of the theater ticket. Because of the plan. I can barely remember the last hour of the trip. I counted the minutes. My head and neck hurt, my field of vision was limited. Driving on was actually crazy, but luckily it went well. Arriving at the hotel I fell on the bed and slept for 2 hours. When I woke up, I didn't know where I was. I chatted with Christi, Karl, and Bill before sleeping, but I can't remember. The first thought after waking up was the theater. At first I thought it was too late. Strange city, no ticket for the bus. No plan from where the bus leaves. I had 35 minutes until the show started. Google says 4 minute walk, then 16 minute bus, and another 3 minute walk. So off I went. Briefly freshened up, put on something else. Cause I slept in the other clothes. Walked to the bus stop. Bus comes. Bus passes me. ... ehm... okay. So much for that. The next bus should come in 20 minutes. I then still tried to wave a cab, but he has also ignored me. Without a well-functioning Internet I was a bit helpless, so back to the hotel. There then again briefly googled, but it was then also already 10 minutes before the start of the show. Then came the hunger, and I walked to the nearest supermarket to provide me with food (picture). Tomorrow will be a better day! Right?

Heute bin ich von Philadelphia nach Washington gefahren. Das Wetter war gut. Ich habe einen Zwischenstopp an einem schicken Rastplatz gemacht und kurz etwas bei Wendy's gegessen. Die Straßen ab Baltimore waren extrem voll. Und dann bekam ich auch noch eine starke Migräne. Ich habe mich zusammen gerissen und nur daran gedacht, dass ich hier her muss. Wegen dem Hotel. Wegen der Theaterkarte. Wegen dem Plan. Ich kann mich an die letzte Stunde der Fahrt laum erinnern. Die Minuten habe ich gezählt. Mein Kopf und Nacken taten weh, mein Sichtfeld war eingeschränkt. Weiter fahren war eigentlich bekloppt, aber ist zum Glück gut gegangen. Angekommen im Hotel bin ich angezogen auf's Bett gefallen und hab 2 stunden geschlafen. Als ich wach wurde, wusste ich erst nicht wo ich bin. Ich habe mit Christi, Karl, und Bill gechatet vor dem Schlafen, kann mich aber nicht daran erinnern. Der erste Gedanke nach dem Wachwerden war das Theater. Ich habe erst gedacht es ist zu spät. Fremde Stadt, kein Ticket für den Bus. Kein Plan von wo der Bus fährt. Ich hatte 35 Minuten bis es los ging. Google sagt 4 Minuten zu Fuß, dann 16 Minuten Bus, und nochmal 3 Minuten zu Fuß. Also los. Kurz frisch gemacht, was anderes angezogen. In den anderen Klamotten hab ich ja geschlafen. Zu Fuss zur Bushaltestelle. Bus kommt. Bus fährt an mir vorbei. ... ehm ... ja. Soviel dazu. Der nächste Bus sollte in 20 Minuten kommen. Ich hab dann noch versucht ein Taxi ran zu winken, der hat mich aber auch ignoriert. Ohne gut funktionierendes Internet war ich dann etwas hilflos, also zurück zum Hotel. Da dann nochmal kurz gegoogelt, aber es war dann auch schon 10 Minuten vor Vorstellungsbeginn. Dann kam kurz ein Hungergefühl und ich bin noch zum nächsten Supermarkt um mich mit Essen (Foto) zu versorgen. Morgen wird ein besserer Tag! Richtig?Baca selengkapnya
