Today I have seen some amazing documents. A first edition of Robinson Crusoe from 1719, original notes by Shakespeare, design sketches by Michelangelo and hand written scores by Bach, Handel, Mozart and Beethoven to name but a few. Of note is that while on struggles to read English from as recent as the late 1700's, written music from the 1100's is as clear as a score written today and I would have no trouble playing it; in any language.
