    The entire mesa that Astorga is perched upon is entirely underlaid with Roman ruins. This was an intersection of several Roman roads. There’s a long and quite wide section of retopped Roman wall along the Eastern side of the downtown and the Palacio Gaudi. It terminates at the original entrance to the Roman city.
