    Looking for baby whales

    After a 2 hour bus ride to the interior, then north, then back out to the Puerto Lopez Mateo we find our panga and head out. But before we do, the town turns out: vendors, dancers, and we do not have to pay the 5 pesos to use the restroom. It’s a darker, overcast day and this makes seeing in the water more difficult. We see a lot of activity, but the mother whales are protective of their babies and it is difficult to get close. After a morning on the water, we head back to town for lunch and then back out on the pangas.Read more
