• Greece - Corfu

    20. maj, Grækenland ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

We arrived in Corfu and wanted to hire Vespas. Unfortunately we couldn’t hire them in Europe as we don’t have an Australian motorcycle licence. Plan B, we hired a car for the day for 35€. Great alternative as we had aircon in the car. We drove to a popular town called Palaiokastritsa. It was beautiful. The water was so brilliant in colour it was hard to look at. It looked like it was lit up from underneath. We then drove up to a monastery on top of the hill. I went for a bit of a trek to get some photos while Peter waited in the shade. From there I kept adding beaches in the GPS and we went on a bit of a beach crawl. I had a towel and my swimmers on but didn’t go in the water. It’s still a bit fresh for me. Maybe I’ll brave it on Mykonos or Santorini? We stopped at a seaside town and shared a pork Gyros, it was bloody delicious. I’ll be trying to replicate that when we get home. 😂 A few more stops along the way to take in the scenery, then headed to check out the old town in Corfu. Another lovely very old area with tiny alleyways loaded with shops. Lots of linen and trinkets, and of course souvenirs. We dropped the car back and headed to the ship. We sat on the deck next to the pool and did Sudoku and crosswords together while having a drink or two.Læs mere
