• Montenegro - Kotor

    May 19 in Montenegro ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

LOVED Montenegro! ❤️ We booked a tour to go on today. We had to go by tender to the mainland. Kotor was nestled in between the port and tall rugged mountains. The water was so still it was like a fjord. 27kms in from the ocean, which is why it’s so calm and mirror like. Just stunning. We hopped on a coach and went to Budva. It’s a seaside town that gets very busy in Summer. It still has the walls protecting it and of course many old churches and alleyways in the old part of the town. Right beside it is the modern part which we didn’t visit. We had free time to wander around. From here we went high up into the mountains to Cetinje and were treated to a plate of local prosciutto, cheeses and olives. And some dough balls. All locally produced in that area only. We were then taken to the very top of the rugged mountain range to get a cable car back down. The fog was rolling in so we knew we wouldn’t see much until we were further down. Peter was very happy about this as he hates heights. We got in the cable car and couldn’t see a thing. 😂 It goes quite fast and it’s an 11 minute ride down, so that gives you an idea of how far up we were. All of a sudden the fog was behind us and we had a spectacular view of Kotor. Wow! We got the bus back to Kotor and continued on with our tour. When we were done we headed back to join the huge queue to get on a tender back to the ship. We had a great day today. I fell in love with everything about Montenegro. I could live there. 💙Read more
