Colosseum

The Colosseum's real name is the Flavian Amphitheater. Named after the Emperor who built it. The name was an error by those who came later. Before the Amphitheater was built, a giant bronze statue of Nero (commissioned by Nero) was built, called the The Colossus of Nero. He named it after the World Wonder, Colossus of Rhodes. The statue in Rome, was destroyed to build the amphitheater.
