Syracuse, Sicily

What a wonderful time we had in Syracuse Italy it was a beautiful city. We stayed in Ortiga which is the old town, known for its winding alleys and great restaurants and shops. The city is notable for its rich Greek and Roman history, culture, amphitheatres, architecture, and as the birthplace of the pre-eminent mathematician and engineer Archimedes. This 2,700-year-old city played a key role in ancient times, when it was one of the major powers of the Mediterranean world.Lue lisää
