Xochimilco Gondola Ride

After the Frida Kahlo museum, we ventured out to Xochimilco to take a gondola (trajinera) ride on the canals. They are often referred to as ‘floating gardens’ as you can buy flowers and other items along the canals such as a song from an xylophone player or mariachi band or a toffee apple. The canal system was an important part of the Aztec precolonial life and was made a World Heritage site in recognition in 1987.Læs mere
