    Today we arrived in a stunningly beautiful part of the world - Monument Valley. Monument Valley is a Navajo Tribal Park on the Arizona-Utah border and is known for its sandstone buttes (formations). It has frequently been used as a filming location for Western movies, most famously featuring John Wayne. Fun fact - Harry Goulding and his wife started the Gouldings lodge here in the 1920s and by the 1930s we’re struggling due to the depression so went up to Hollywood to convince the filmmaker John Ford to make his next film here. He did and the rest is history! We are lucky enough to be staying in the Gouldings Lodge, up and close to it all. The vastness and enormity of this place is absolutely mesmerising and completely surreal.Read more
