Road Trip - Caltagirone to Modica

Today we drove from Caltagirone to Modica via Ragusa and Scicli (all UNESCO baroque towns). All towns are incredibly beautiful and have their own characters. Ragusa is divided into a low and high town (we stayed in the low side) and Scicli is a very intimate town made famous by the popular TV show Inspector Montalbano. Modica is particularly known for its chocolate! Modica has been making chocolate for centuries dating back to its Spanish/Catalan occupation. Due to its lack of cocoa butter, the sugar does not dissolve, giving it an interesting granular texture. We even found time to visit the Warhol and friends exhibition in Modica!Read more
