Colloseum, Forum and Palatine Hill

This afternoon we did a fabulous walking tour of the Colosseum, the Forum and Palatine Hill. The guide was great and we learnt so much about the incredible history of these places.
旅行者I’m pretty sure some fights occurred between animals and gladiators. …contests called venationes ("wild beast hunts").
旅行者Yes! I agree. I think our guide told us that a bunch of slaves and animals would be thrown into the ring all at once. It was survival of the fittest. If a man survived he became a gladiator.
