Dubrovnik (Lapad) June 25

Woke up at 6 am by thunderstorm which was spectacular to watch across the bay- cleared by breakfast. Anne slept right through it!

Mario, our Uber driver from previous day, offered us a tour of the area for a fixed price which was virtually the same as buying the bus and cable tour tickets we had planned to buy. We decided to chance it. If he didn't turn up we lost nothing as paying cash. He turned up!

We were not so sure we had made the right decision when he took us off road down a rough gravel track. He took us to a water fall/fresh water supply for the city-it was fab. The trip just kept getting better. Lots of stops at amazing views and taking our photos + helped Anne to navigate rocks to see views.

Lazy afternoon and then went into Dubrovnik old city in the eve
for a sunset cruise. Anne concerned-didn't think she wd get on to the boat-3 members of the crew came to rescue. V enjoyable. We saw people jumping off the rocks at a cafe, which I assume was the one A mentioned.

We then had dinner in one of the sidestreets in the old city (pistachio pesto pasta and tiramasu-yum!). Caught a v busy bus after 11pm and managed to get off at the right stop. Not awake enough to do penguins last night.Read more
