Because I wanted to spend most of my time in a volunteer job in Gujarat state, I stayed in Delhi only for two days. One day I didn't go anywhere and just talked to an Indian girl who was very interested in Iran. The second day, I just walked around the city.Read more

Desert Coursers

For 18 days, I had my dream job as a volunteer! I went to a safari ecolodge (Desert Coursers) near Zainabad and Wild Ass Sanctuary in Gujarat state. This place was a great location for birdwatching and I went to tens of safaris and observed more than 100 birds! I can't describe how kind were people there. Dhanraj, the owner of ecolodge and his wife, Zaheeda accepted me as a part of their family and Ian, former Workawayer and now a close friend of family, helped me in any way possible to have the best time there. My main task was monitoring rooms getting ready for guests and as all work was done by staff and we didn't have that many guests, I literally didn't have much to do. I had a great time with guests, too and made many new friends.Read more

Ranthambhore National Park

As I saw lion, leopard and cheetah before, now my target was tiger to complete my big cats of the world. I arrived at Samai Madhopur only one hour before my safari. My first safari was in zone 3 which is known as the best zone. But we couldn't find any tigers. I was really disappointed, but still had a chance the next day. In my safari morning in the next day, they said yesterday people saw tigers mating in zone 6 which we were heading to. Less than half an hour, we reached the point where people were watching two tigers. We were lucky to see tigers mating 6 times. About 2 hours we sat and watched them and when it was time to come back, they were still there :)

I stayed at Jaipur in Rajasthan state, also known as "Pink City" for two nights and I went to a walking tour to discover beauties of the city. I was during Diwali time and they were selling many colorful decoration in streets.Read more

On my first day in the new country, I walked around Kathmandu. I visited some Buddhist temples and went to Darbar Square. Diwali is important to Nepali people, too, so you could see the residues of last night's ceremony.Read more

Volunteering in a farm

I started my first volunteering 2 days after I arrived in Kathmandu. The few first days were all festivals, especially for Newar new year. Then we resumed working in the permaculture farm. It was a two-hour work everyday and mainly weeding or planting garlic. One night was specificly for making momo, a traditional Nepali food. On our free time,we went to different temples, both Buddhist and Hindu.Read more
