Unlucky for some

We share breakfast with Alison this morning and after all the hecticness of a days traveling I feel exhausted so we decide to have a lazy day. After breakfast I drop off the laundry and take a little stroll around. I need to pick up a few essentials and I'm overjoyed when I go in and they have pawpaw ointment. I'd never heard of it before but my beautiful friend Geraldine bought me a gorgeous wash bag filled with all kinds of goodies and this was in it. It's amazing stuff and has definitely helped with the healing of my tattoo. As I come out of there there is the memorial statue for the bombings that occurred back in 2002 The 2002 Bali bombings occurred on 12 October 2002 in the tourist district of Kuta on the Indonesian island of Bali. The attack killed 202 people (including 88 Australians, 38 Indonesians, 23 Britons, and people of more than 20 other nationalities).A further 209 people were injured. The bomb was set of inside Paddy's bar and as people fled another device went off in a van outside. The crazy part is I kind of remember this vaguely but when you travel and physically visit these places things become a lot more real. As I walk back to the hostel the streets are lined with offerings and burning incense sticks. We eat dinner in a little Indonesian restaurant just around the corner and you select what you want and they total up what you have and give you a card with the total on. My plate is overflowing and it literally cost £1.50 and with a large Bintang beer £3. We head back and have an hour at the pool and await Bobby's arrival. He turns up a little stressed with the airport scenario and after dropping his bag I hand him a beer I've had chilling in my fridge and we make our way back to the pool table and have a few games of pool before retiring to bed.Read more
