    Itzaccihuatl Vulkan 4.210m

    Heute gings zu einer 12h Tour auf den Vulkan Itzaccihuatl!
    Von dort hatten wir einen wunderbaren Blick auf den aktiven Supervulkan Popocatépetl 🌋
    Ganz nach oben sind wir nicht gewandert, sondern bis zum Basecamp. Er ist insgesamt 5230m.
    Trotzdem unsere höchste Wanderung bisher mit 4210m !!
    Wobei man dazusagen muss, dass Puebla bereits bei 2100m liegt und wir von 3100 weg gewandert sind. Mit Oximeter (niedrigster Wert ganz oben: 74% SpO2) und sehr qualifizierten Guide hat alles super geklappt😊

    Und am Abend gingen wir aus mit Ana und Lukas. Ana ist Einheimische direkt aus Puebla und zeigte uns in der Stadt herum. Sie konnte sogar deutsch, weil sie in Deutschland leben möchte 🙌

    Today we hiked with a 12 hour Tour on the Volcano Itzaccihuatl! This one is inactive but we had a really good view over the active supervolcano Popocatépetl 🌋 We didn’t hike up to the top (5230m) because that would take more than one day. But we still made it to the Basecamp at the hight of 4210m! It‘s the highest altitude we‘ve ever been so far. But the city Puebla is already at 2100m and we started our hike at 3100m. With a really experienced and funny guide and an oxymeter (lowest value was 74% SpO2) everything went well! We even saw a snake, but it was really calm🐍

    In the evening Ana gave us a tour around the city Puebla and we went for dinner with her and Lukas. She is a really nice local girl that we met the day before and she even speaks german!🙌🏼    Lue lisää

    Heute gings ganz entspannt zur nächsten Stadt nach Puebla. Morgen ist was großes geplant 🤭😁

    After a nice breakfast with Gonzo and his friends we had to say goodbye and took the bus to Puebla. It took us more than 4 hours instead of 2 but at least the busses here are really comfortable and even have a TV inside. In the evening we finally made it to Puebla and walked around the city. It‘s a really nice and vibrant city with beautiful old buildings and good food! But we went early to bed to restore our energy. For tomorrow we planned something big! 🤭Lue lisää

    Xochimilco River 🎉

    Heute haben wir Gonzo getroffen, einen mexikanischen Freund von Anna, den sie in Belgien kennengelernt hat.
    Er hat uns gleich mitgenommen auf ein (Party-)Boot durch den Xochimilco River mit Freunden von ihm. Dort gibts ganz viele Legenden und Geschichten zu jeder Insel.
    Wir hatten super viel Spaß und die Mexikaner zeigten uns, wie man ordentlich feiert. Mit viel Tequilla (aber ohne Zitrone und Salz. 🥳
    Danach gings zum Abendessen und dann weiter zu einer Hausparty zu Whitexicans (Bezeichnung für weiße reiche Mexikaner*innen). Anna fuhr uns sicher durch ganz CDMX. Wir haben alle zusammen bei Lucas übernachtet. Es war ein extrem lustiger Tag und wir erlebten die volle mexikanische Experience.

    Today we met Gonzo, a mexican friend of mine from Belgium. He took us onto a Partyboat at the Xochimilco lake with his friends. We learned a lot about the legends around this lake. One is about a lot of dolls, we even went to the Island and saw all of them hanging on the trees. It was kinda creepy. On another Island we could hold a cute lizard. We had the full mexican experience with a lot of Tequila shots and mexican music! At the end everyone was too drunk to drive, so I drove us through whole Mexico City with 7 people in the car. We were happy that the police didn’t stop us. After a nice restaurant we somehow ended up at a housparty at a really fancy house full of Whitexicans (rich, white mexicans). We had a lot of fun and slept than at Lucas place because it was too late to go all the way to Gonzo.

    We really enjoyed the whole day and had a lot of fun with this mexican experience!    Lue lisää

    Pyramids of the sun ☀️

    Heut sind wir zusammen mit Lukas zu den Sonnenpyramiden in Teotihuacan gefahrn. Dort befindet sich die dritt größte Pyramide der Welt!
    Danach gings weiter zum Schloss Chapultepec, wo ma einen wunderbaren Blick über Mexico City hat.
    Am Abend schauten wir uns die Show in Ehren des 700 Jahre alten Hauptplatzes in CDMX an. Es ging um die Geschichte der Stadt, was bildlich auf den Gebäuden abgebildet wurde.
    Und danach gings auf den großen Tower Latinoamericana, wo man über ganz Mexico City by Night schaut 🌃

    Today we went to the Pyramids of the sun in Teotihuacan with Lukas. He‘s from Germany and we met him in the hostel. The pyramids were just stunning! One of them is even the third biggest pyramid in the world. They got built 100 a.c. from an unknown mexican civilisation and got found by the Azteken 400 a.c.
    After that we took an Uber to the Castillo Chapultepec. The drive took us over 2 hours instead of 1 due to heavy rain and hail stones and a lot of traffic. But finally we made it there and had an amazing view over the city!
    In the evening we went to a show at the main square where they celebrated 700 years of Mexico City. After that we went to the highest building to a rooftop bar and had a stunning view over the city at night!    Lue lisää

    Wir sind extrem positiv überrascht von Mexico City! Es ist wunderschön, lebendig, modern, sehr sauber, sehr freundliche Menschen, tolles Essen und man fühlt sich sehr sicher so wie in jeder anderen europäischen Stadt.
    Wir hatten direkt unseren privaten Führer vom Hostel, der uns alle Insider Tipps zeigte und schnell unser Freund wurde. Am Abend gingen wir alle noch was Trinken.

    We are super positively surprised by Mexico City. It's an absolutely stunning city - really clean, amazing old buildings, a lot of history and completely safe. And of course really good food! Eventhough at the market they had a lot of exotic animals, that we didn't try. But they also have always some vegetarian options. We directly met some people at the hostel and Javier gave us a tour around the city and the market. In the evening we went out and tried a few special mexican drinks. We still have to get into the flavour but they were really interesting. Right now it's rainy season here. We forgot a little bit about that. But it's normally only raining in the afternoon, so it shouldn't be too bad.    Lue lisää

    2 Flüge, 7h Aufenthalt in Istanbul und 24h später gut in Mexico City angekommen!

    2 Flights, 7 hours Layover in Istanbul and after 24hours we finally arrived good in Mexico City!
