Hiking in Cinque Terre - Part 4

The route from Manarola to Riomaggiore was another 3kms and took us close to 2 hours to complete. This was the steepest and most challenging route of the day and once we arrived in Riomaggiore we caught the train back to La Spezia, arriving around 6 pm. Manarola is one of the most famous of the scenic Cinque Terre coastline. The village has a small harbor with a boat ramp, picturesque multicoloured houses facing the sea and a tiny piazza with seafood restaurants. Riomaggiore is considered to be the most romantic of the Cinque Terre villages. It is a great place to hang around in during the day and also has some nightlife. The village is basically a cascade of multi-colored houses in the typical Ligurian style, all tightly clustered around a tiny natural harbor carved out in between the rocks and is the best sunset spot in Cinque Terre. We thoroughly enjoyed a 17 km, 9 hour day of “pinch me” moments in Cinque Terre and put the icing on the cake eating supper out in La Spezia at Nanas Steak Restaurant, where we enjoyed the famous 3” sirloin steak, grilled vegetables, roasted potatoes and a tray of assorted flavours of focassia bread.もっと詳しく
