I'm impressed how the grapes are grown here. To harvest, you may walk under the trellises of woven wire and easily pick the hanging clusters. Their farming style is so meticulous. The woman statue is Czytaj więcej

PodróżnikI recommend taking the route along the right side of the river that goes past the Guggenheim. It's the shortest and mostly flat. Then you cross the really cool bridge to Portugalete. There is a donativo albergue in Portugalete or if you walk on to Pobeña there is a dontativo albergue there too.

PodróżnikBandage them well. You can make a donut shape out of a piece of moleskin to cushion around the blister. Then cover the whole thing with tape. It might be a good idea to just go to Portugalete for a short day to give your feet a break. Pobeña is another 12+ km, so it would almost double the distance.

The warm, humid environment gives to growing large plush plants here. Agriculture is abundant . I thought it was a neat way of protecting the grapes, with wax coated paper bags around the clusters. Czytaj więcej

PodróżnikNo swimming that day as it was cool and drizzly. I went with the young woman I was walking with (we were the only ones in the albergue!) to a pintxos bar for dinner.
Jzionna's WanderingsI went to a market for a baguette, goat cheese, and peaches. I got eggs, then realized there's no stove. So I boiled watr in the elcrtic tea pot to cook my eggs. I placed slices on the table to share with others. A good night. The rain is supposed to come tomorrow night. I think we're going to have 2 or 3 days of walking in it. Oh boy!
