    Daintree rainforest

    September 8, 2022 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

An extremely beautiful part of Australia. 3 very relaxing days at Cape Tribulation walking the rain forest and spotting Cassowaries. And then a final day driving to cairns and back. On what was to be our departure day we noticed that the tow pin and tongue had been stollen overnight so there was no way to leave with the caravan. We heard nothing overnight other than rain unfortunately. A trip to Cairns netted us the new towing equipment plus a lock. All fitted and on our way south now.
The Cape Trib camping ground was lovely and our site was about 30m from the beach amongst the trees. I was very excited to see Cassowaries 4 times in the wild. The first spotting was a dad with 2 chicks.
We visited the discovery centre and their elevated rainforest walk. Jamie vary bravely walked the 10m high walk and climbed 2/3 of the way up the 23m tower. Unfortunately the top level was a little much for him and his sweaty 🦶 😬 so I met him back at the bottom. We’ll try again on another skywalk in a couple of days 😂
