A boat cruise through the National Park for about one hour until we reach our lodge in the middle of the rainforest. What an incredible adventure. We had the opportunity to canoe through the waters, go on a nature walk, swim, zip line, and much more. Met some great friends and had the time of my life.Weiterlesen

    22. Mai 2019 in Costa Rica ⋅ ☁️ 27 °C

We spent two days in Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. What an incredible place! We went snorkeling as well as hiked 3KM through Cahuita National Park. This was my first time snorkeling and I was petrified, but I will definitely try it again.Weiterlesen

This by far was my favourite part of the trip. For the first time ever I went white water rafting. I was scared shitless! But nevertheless, I went for it. The adrenaline was pumping through my blood. It was incredible. The water 💦 smashed up against the raft, throwing my entire body from one end to the other. I can’t wait to do this again!Weiterlesen

Off to Arenal for a couple days. I absolutely love this place ❤️. After some hiccups with our originally planned accommodation, as well as some pretty primitive hotel options we’ve already stayed in, we decided to stay in a four star resort. What a cool place! The property as a total of six pools, including two hot springs. We really enjoyed this place. We spend one day relaxing in the pools and having some great meals.

We then took a coffee and chocolate tour, which was great! We had the chance to explore the farm and see how the coffee grows and where it came from. We also learned how things have evolved over the years with the production of coffee. We then got the chance to see how the coffee is roasted and then the beat part... the taste test. Yum!

Later in the evening, we took a night tour through the park. Wow 😮 this was so much fun. I got to hold some frogs and insects. It was a little scary walking through the wilderness in pitch darkness.

Next we are on to Monteverde cloud forest 🌳.

    25. Mai 2019 in Costa Rica ⋅ 🌧 22 °C

After travelling by bus, boat 🚣‍♀️, and another bus, we arrived in the afternoon and headed to do a skywalk. Due to the rain 🌧 season, it was difficult to observe any mammals. The small town of Monteverde is so nice. We spent some time walking around the downtown, and had a fantastic supper at a restaurant called The Green. It was probably the absolute best meal I’ve had so far in Costa Rica 🇨🇷.Weiterlesen

Malcolm and I went to a ranch where we had the opportunity to ride horses through a private reserve. We swam by the waterfall and had a genuine Costa Rican meal 🥘 at a ranch. What a cool experience. Then we went on an ATV ride. It was so crazy 😜.Weiterlesen

We now head back to San Jose after a complete journey of Costa Rica. We had an amazing time a country where we got to do any activities; snorkeling, hiking through the rain forest, white water rafting, going on a night walk and spending time at the hot springs. We went to a coffee and cocoa farm, where we had the opportunity to taste chocolate and fresh coffee. We spend two days and one night in Tortuguero National Park where we canoed, zip-lined, hiked, and slept in the rainforest. We went horseback riding and rode ATVs in Manuel Antonio. What an amazing adventure. Now just a four hour drive to the capital where we will enjoy the sights along the way. Tomorrow we fly home to YYZ.Weiterlesen
