    October 15 in Vietnam ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

A warm day just right for slogging around DaNang looking for cosmetics Bev wanted to buy. On the recommendation of one of the staff at the resort we found a place only a couple of kilometers from the resort which had everything Bev wanted from Maybelline at less than half the price back in Australia.
Then we called in for coffee and bahn mei at a great little spot run by the grandson of the original owner. The young Vietnamese man spent several years in Dallas before returning home because he says he can walk the streets at any time of the night in complete safety, the beaches are good and living is cheap.
We still can't get over how efficient ordering transport is in Asia. We use the Grab app. Log in and show your pickup point which automatically pops up on your screen. Then record your destination and a list of available cars with their price and arrival time are shown. Pick your car and it usually takes only a minute or two to arrive, Jump in, confirm your name and off you go. The app also tracks your journey so you can see exactly where you are. On arrival, get out and wave goodbye to your driver. It's even better than Uber back in Oz.
In Hoi An immediately we booked a car a young chap across the street where he'd been parked, waved at us and it turned out that was our ride. Instant booking within seconds!
I skipped dinner back at the resort because of the Bahn Mei but Bev had a brilliant Pad Thai.
