We snorkelled in the Kilsby Sinkhole, located on a private sheep farm just south of Mount Gambier, this sinkhole has crystal-clear water and a mesmerizing underwater world.

DAY 3

From Mt Gambier to Meningie.
Drove through the Coonawarra Wine Region today stopping to sample a drop from Wynns Estate. Then onto Coorong National Park pulling in at Lake Albert for the night. WeLue lisää
Day 4

Travelled from the Coorong today. We had arranged lunch at the Star of Greece in Port Willunga. This has been on our bucket list for some time, and it did not disappoint. Ended up up the road aLue lisää
Day 5

Good Morning from Port Wakefield. One the road again today hoping to find a camp near Whyalla.
Day 5

Set up camp in a lovely spot near Whyalla, open fire catching Squid and tasting that shiraz from Coonawarra.

Woke up this morning to Dolphins frolicking in front of our camp. After breakfast, we went for a snorkel with the giant cuttlefish, they gather here to breed in large numbers each winter. It was quiteLue lisää

On Sunday we drove to Coffin Bay,stopping at a few little towns along the way. Arrived in time for a foreshore walk, and we felt obliged to enjoy some of the local delicacies. Our second day in CoffinLue lisää
Day 9 and 10

From Coffin Bay , Streaky Bay, and Penola for the night , on to the Nullarbor exploring cliff tops, ghost towns and The Great Australian Bight .

Day 12 and 13

2 nights in Kalgoorlie. Some beautiful old buildings. Interesting history, colourful characters and riches to be made and lost.
Day 14

Driving from Kalgoorlie to Leonora then out bush to look for our fortune in gold. Interesting gold mine Sons of Gawlia and the abandoned ghost town.
Day 15

Trying our luck on the Goldfields near Leonora WA.
Day 16

Finished up gold prospecting near Leonora. Metal Detector now for sale 😄. Lovely sunrise this morning, warning of approaching rain. Now headed towards the coast.
Day 16 part 2

Long drive in the car today approximately 600kms to Yalgoo. Lots of interesting mining towns along the way and some big things on the road. The truckies in roadtrains use UHF channel 40 to help youLue lisää
Day 17

Drove from Yalgoo to just past Geraldton to stay at Coronation Beach. It is a wind surfers Mecca here, lucky for us no wind today 👏👏. Met up with Brett and Kathy for sunset drinks and a BBQ.
Day 18, 19, and 20

Drove up the road a bit to Kalbarri. We have 2 nights here. Andrew Reid joined our convey, now we are 5.

The crew going out to dinner before we ditch the caravans and rough it for a few days at Steep Point.
Day 21

Started the morning in Kalbarri with a walk along the River and then Coffee. Seriously this blog should be called Travelling Australia one Coffee at a time 🤣. Anyway it's always a game of coffeeLue lisää
Day 22

Steep Point Western Australia. Certainly a lot easier to access than when we were here 24 years ago. Same beautiful beach 😍. No starlink then or mobile phones!
Day 24 Steep Point

Windy Beach camping. Fishing hasn't been as hoped for, skinny sausages for dinner tonight 😕. Got a photo with the Western most point of Australia and watch the whales do their thing.
Day 25

Woomeral Station. 2 night Station stay on our way north...Did I mention artesian baths arhhh ...photos to come.
Day 27 Warroora Station Ningaloo

Late arrival in Warroora due to closed roads from flooding. Quick stop in Carnarvon to refuel/ water /food with all the other caravanning. Hopefully some good fishing to be had.

Fun day of swimming four wheel driving and yay fish for dinner.
