5 hour train ride from London Paddington to St Erth I am one sleep deprived puppy after my 8 hour overnight flight from RDU and I’m sooooo thrilled to be in UK!! 🇬🇧

Put my toes in the sand/surf, walked around town, found a really cool cemetery- sun setting - from the Porthmeor Beach and then to my room. I’ve been awake over 20 hours! Good night!! 😁😴

I sat up by St Nickolas Chapel to watch the sunset and was rewarded with an unbelievable one!! Tomorrow I start my hike - 8 miles to Zennor

ПутешественникIt’s not really paving - it was two huge stones as a bridge to cross a deep ravine! See the boulders I had to scramble up? It took some doing!

First pics of The Tinners Arms- it was built in 1251 when Zennor was a tin mining town. Also St Senar’s (who?) church- the foundation is from Saxon times and it was added on in the Medieval times.Читать далее

Lots of vegetation- path was hard to follow at times - beautiful views and ups and downs! The rocky point is Gunard’s Head and the ruins are from copper mining that has happened in this area sinceЧитать далее

Phew-whee! Long day - 9.52 miles and 2021 ft elevation gain! I saw a pod of dolphins (sorry- no good pics) free roaming horses, and rock climbers- so glad I had my binoculars! You may have to zoom inЧитать далее

ПутешественникIt was warnings about the beech and an emergency call box- it was up hill from here into Pendeen- about 2 miles! Ugh. All the hikers talked about it at dinner!
