Day 6: Art on Murano

We then went to a glass factory on the famous island of Murano where we first had to make a glass mosaic. We were just reproducing a child's mosaic with glass bits glued on wood, but it was fun and we got to cut glass rods into little bits.

Next we went into the room with the glass forge and had to try to blow as large (in diameter) oblong of glass as we could without popping it like a bubble. Here is a video of Russell's effort:

Finally, we had to try shaping molten glass into something (anything we wanted). It's really hard to shape the glass before it cooled. I ended up with something that might have been a flower (if you squint a lot) and R did just about as well on his interpretation of a hand.Читать далее
