Next we passed through the deepest lock on the river and one of the deepest in all of Europe.

We missed this one on the upstream journey. It was one of the two that they went through when they moved the ship before we boarded that first day.

The clearance at the entrance was pretty tight, so pnce again they had to lower everything, including the roof of the bridge, so the captain is sticking his head out like a conductor in the orchestra pit.Read more
