Boarding California Zephyr

When we went back to the hotel to pick up our luggage and check out, I took the opportunity to order some authentic Chicago deep dish pizza that we could pick up close to Union Station.

We had a cold, but interesting walk there and when we arrived at the station, it was almost time to board. So I didn't have a chance to show Joel and Lauren the special lounge for sleeper passengers. We did check out the main concourse and Lauren had a chance to pick up a Chicago souvenir for their cat sitter, but before long we were on board, I had my train shoes on, and we were sitting in their cabin enjoying pizza and the second bottle of wine that Russell had bought in Vancouver .

The pizza was still warm and surprisingly good. I never thought I liked deep dish pizza, but it turns out I just hadn't had a good version of it.

I had ordered way more pizza than we could eat, so after we were totally stuffed we took the leftovers down to the observation car and offered it to anyone who wanted it.もっと詳しく
