Day 2 Cairo P2 Memphis

About 45 minutes outside Cairo, we visited Memphis, Egypt’s original capital, and the Saqqara Pyramid. The history here is incredible, and the guides had so many stories to share—too much to cover in one go. On the way back to the hotel, we stopped by a carpet-weaving school. Watching the process, I understood why these carpets are so expensive. It takes years to master the craft, and the work is repetitive and challenging. The carpets, though, are truly impressive.
It was a full day, back to the hotel at 5.30pm, dinner then early night. Off to the museum day three
