Boys Fishing Mission

Winners are Grinners!
Ben, Odie and I finally made it out to the Franklin Islands for a fish on the big boat. We left late arvo and camped out so we could fish the morning session before Ben had to be back for a lunchtime meeting.
We had a ball, we caught big barracudas, heaps of small mouth nannygai and a huge cobia. Safe to say fish is on the menu again 😂
The water was beautiful, warm and clear so we had plenty of swims and even went shell collecting on the beach shhh 🤫 don’t tell Lauren.
The funniest thing that happened was oldie decided at midnight after we had gone to bed that he needed to poo, so in the dark and at low tide we navigated the reef and bommies to shore where Ben went for a midnight swim helping Odie. All’s good that ends well and Odie felt much better but was not aloud any more food for the rest of the trip 😂
At home we filleted the fish and smoked some cobia and nannygai’s over the fire for 4 hours using mango wood shavings from cutting the mango logs up with the chainsaw. Man they were tasty and the best was the cobia rib section we picked at cold the next day with an icy cold beer 🍺
