Today we got an offer to go sailing with some friends.

It was so much fun!

We left from the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club in Pitt Water. We motored it out of the marina and then it was time to put the sails up.

We sailed to Hungry Bay for a swim and a prawn lunch.

The trip to Hungry Bay was fun filled. Brett learnt some sailing, helping to put the sails up and we all leant some of the sailing lingo, the first word being ‘ heeling’. The owner Steve warned us that his boat heels, but I was not ready for this! This is when the boat leans really far over to one side! And if you are not holding on watch out! There was some screaming, laughing and grabbing for something to hold onto!

The kids, loved going under the deck while the boat heeled. The windows went underwater, so they could see underwater. They even got creative with their filming ( see below).

The way home was more relaxing. We just had the front sail up, so no heeling! We sailed through the bays, checking out the local real- estate ( houses and boats).

Well, we weren’t sure about sailing around Australia before, but this experience has made that decision for us! It is safe to say, we now want a sail boat 😂😂 Czytaj więcej
