    Free Flight ANZAC Long Weekend

    April 25 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Another great weekend spent motorbike riding, cooking pizza’s and camping.
Brax towelled the old man up on the sand track riding Finn’s KTM 250 SXF, apparently it’s time for an ungraded.
Lachlans bike didn’t stop all weekend.
Shaun bought Lyla a new bike and we worked most afternoons modifying Shaun’s trailer, adding a tie down bar, lockable tool box, and rust killing it. It turned out great.
Shauns kids had a ball and they hardly got off their bikes, only for food and toilet breaks. We had to usher them in last thing so we could put their bikes on the trailer and leave for home.
The Nevstad’s behaved and it was nice to have no hospital trips this time, it’s always very fun camping with them.
Now it’s time to start planning the next trip away……

  • Date Night - Terrigal

    April 19 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

Lauren decided to take me out to Terrigal for dinner, I was very excited and had a great time. We had the biggest fried ice cream I’ve ever seen.
We also got a sneaky breakfast in as well

  • Silversmithing School

    March 27 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

Silversmithing is something I have wanted to learn for a while now. After attending a few sessions at the Lapidary Club and getting a taste for it, I enrolled in a more intensive 4 day course at Warnervale.

Day one: today was a skills based session, we learnt to solder and we practised and practised and practised.

Day two: we made a stamped ring, from start to finish. Unfortunately, I forgot to take some before photos, so I only have then end product.

Day three: bezel set ring. For this one I got to use one of the star sapphires we found in Sapphire. I was the only one in the group who completed each step myself 🤓💕. I made this ring to fit my stacker rings I made previously.

Day four: finishing the bezel ring and bonus activity of melting silver into balls and stamping them! We turned the biggest one into a pendant, which I made to match my ring.

  • Newcastle - Pre Wedding

    March 21 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 25 °C

We arrived early in Newcastle keen to make the most of the day. The weather wasn’t forecast to be great but it turned out fantastic, very sunny and hot.
We booked a king room at The Grand Royal which is an old pub with plenty of character and we even had a spectacular balcony.
We lakes the beach and the streets, had a nice breakfast, swam at the beach (the water was soo warm), and picked up Prosecco and nibbles to have while getting ready.
This was a great way to prepare for the wedding 😊

  • Adelaide - Hidden Bars and Home

    March 14 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 21 °C

Headed out and found some very hidden Adelaide bars. Pete had a 65% rum on the rocks, we all had cocktails, fiery tribal drinks, pizza n wings to soak it up before heading home. Maybe next time we do the food first 😂
Trip home was long but good, very tired when we arrived home, but all well worth the extra days 😎

  • Adelaide Bike Ride and Nudie Circus

    March 13 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

We decided to get an apartment for the weekend after the conference in Adelaide and it turned out the Adelaide Fringe Festival was on. I had a list of things to do and fist up was getting some free hire bikes and riding in the beautiful parks around the city. Then we hit up a nudie circus called Infamous followed by a Chinese banquet. They even had the smallest live coral trout in a tank you could buy for $250 😂Read more

  • Adelaide Conference - Roof Climb

    March 12 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

Got to walk around the top of the famous Adelaide Oval. They do a lean out at the very top which was terrifying but I would have regretted not doing it……..
    Hence, No Regrets!
NSW vs SA Women’s Cricket was on which was good to view from the rooftop, however I think we were the only spectators 😂
The NSW team flew back with us to Sydney, luck them.

  • Adelaide Conference - Zoo

    March 11 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

On day one, Stephen Bradbury gave a good motivational speech which was really funny, he is definitely a character 😊
Had the Adelaide Zoo to ourselves and got to hang out with the rare Pandas while drinking Champagne and eating canapés. We then had dinner there with live music and probably too many drinks…..
But it was a great night!

  • Lake St Claire

    March 7 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

    Great weekend!
We didn’t get many photos but the boys had a ball and the biggest achievement was aunty Mel and Lauren Skiing after very long spells. Lauren hadn’t skied since she had Braxton 14 years ago, but, she hasn’t lost it, she was straight up like a bobbing cork.
I had the usual busy week to get there, triton blew the gear box so had to organise a rental Ute that could tow the bullet, also organise new upholstery for bullet seats and decided late to give her a service. It was a little hectic but we made it and I loved teaching Harry, Anders, Kayden, and Taj to wakeboard 🤙
Was just a nice weekend spent with the family and friends.
PS Jett probably enjoyed it the most 😂

  • Broughton Island - Coal Shaft Bay

    February 21 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

    What a beautiful picturesque beach.
We found caves, climbed up the cliff rope, swam, sunbaked, ate, and had another snorkel…..
    All in paradise 🏝️

A storm started to roll in as we left the island but we still managed to have a fish and make it back to the ramp safely.

    What a great day! 😎

  • Broughton Island - Esmeralda Cove

    February 21 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Esmeralda was a great spot to snorkel and the water was sooo warm. It was such a beautiful bay, the water colour was amazing and so clear. It was a bit dis-heartening to see large sections of white rock with little to no life on it. White rock is when long spine sea urchins eat all the kelp and reef until nothing is left and the once thriving kelp and fish covered reef is bare and Barron. We stabbed many sea urchins but need a longer knife on a pole for next time so we can get more without getting spikes in our hands.
We also caught a few Bonito which everyone knows are a trophy fish 😂

  • Broughton Island - Providence Bay

    February 21 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

We finally made it to Broughton Island and safe to say we should have done it earlier.
Kat was talking about getting a charter to take her to the island which I thought was absurd when we own a boat so it quickly became a Brett’s adventure tour for Shaun, Kat, Lauren, Lyla and Byron.
It was a 4am start and a big day that was full of firsts, but It was amazing and felt like we were back on the road exploring another beautiful place in Australia 🏝️
We started with a swim and walk on Providence Beach and then had a very playful bunch of dolphins swimming all around the boat as we headed to Esmeralda Cove for a snorkel.

  • Glow Worm Tunnel

    February 16 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

This has been on our list for years and it didn’t disappoint. There were so many more glow worms than expected and Lauren got some great photos. The other end of the tunnel was like a prehistoric garden of beautiful green ferns and running water nestled in a valley of sandstone cliffs, and for a minute the sun shone and it was spectacular ☺️Read more

  • Minnehaha Falls then Diana’s Pool

    February 16 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

    Very Rewarding
Minnehaha Falls was a quick stop and a nice waterfall but was close to town and had lots of people.
Diana’s Pool….. This was an adventure and definitely glad we did a little more research before heading out as there is no marked track and no reception, just loose directions found on hiking blogs.
But man what a beautiful find and we were the only ones there, just how we like it 😊
Even had a little 4x4 action to get up the steep fire trail on the way out, made more exciting by the fact we were remote with no reception and no one to help for miles 😳
