Glencore Cooper smelter in the middle of town on the brink of closure - unless a govt bail out steps in, losing $30M a year but a vital asset in the mineral sector, smelter just not economic to run, but the world still wants the ore.
Staying in Winton for the night, outback town with a lot of pubs and not much else. On route passed Walkabout Hotel (Croc Dundee move),Boulia ( camel races), and miles of empty Qld dotted with fair'dinkum Aussie pubs.Læs mere
