Emerald Lake

We seemed to be making a habit of finishing our plans for the day by lunchtime. Despite our morning being an epic 24km hike we were back to the van and seeing what else was nearby.

The nearby town of Field turned out to be literally a one-pub-town, and didn't offer quite what we were looking for. We had been told about Emerald Lake which was just another 15 minute drive away.

What a score! An unbelievably pretty lake with a little cafe set up on an island along the shore. The perfect spot to kick back and soak up the afternoon sun.Read more
