Pompeii

A visit to Pompeii, which was way too short. I underestimated how large it is, how full it would be, plus we lost a good hour due to traffic and roadworks on the only road from the Amalfi coast. So we only scratched the surface in 2 hours and missed some of what we hoped to see. The ruins of Pompeii were destroyed in the eruption of Vesuvius of AD 79. Vesuvius last erupted in 1944, and is regarded as one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world because 3,000,000 people live near enough to be affected by an eruption.Læs mere
