A visit to Pompeii, which was way too short. I underestimated how large it is, how full it would be, plus we lost a good hour due to traffic and roadworks on the only road from the Amalfi coast. So we only scratched the surface in 2 hours and missed some of what we hoped to see. The ruins of Pompeii were destroyed in the eruption of Vesuvius of AD 79.
