Christchurch (last day in NZ)

Lovely day exploring Christchurch with Teresa our guide.. visited the Botanical gardens, the art centre, the cathedral still under repair from the 2011 earthquake . Christchurch still under the process of rebuilding. Sadly they have run out of money so work has stopped. Lots of areas in the city acting as carparks until new buildings can be built. We visited the Earthquake centre, very informative with film of the quake happening, along with personal accounts .. well worth a visit. Lunch in the shopping area picking up cheese & bits for supper in the market area.. lovely vibe to the city. On the way back we stopped off at Pegasus beach , fabulous bay with sand dunes filled with yellow lupins and their scent.. we have seen so many wild lupins in our time in NZ..Okumaya devam et
