we next went to the museum after a brief stop at the turismo to get a map and a bird pamphlet. stopped at Fuente de la Plaza de las Tortugas (Turtle fountain plaza) built quickly in the 1950's for visit by Franco. the church is st. Augustine, he is holding a church, his symbol. the museum was free but only floors 1 and 3 were open. one was prehistory up to the moors and was interesting. some signage in English. Google translator is not all that accurate we are finding. the third floor was marionettes....a bit like Polar Express...they even hava a Mary float puppet!. the funerary stuff was interesting. I think cremated remains are placed in a glass receptacle then into ceramic the Into stone. the amphora were different shapes depending upon what the held, olive oil, wine, garem, .....the beads look similar to the turquoise ones we saw in Phoenix in march. The museum is on a square called plaza Mina Square. it was full of kids playing in the gardens and climbing the shrubs it was a bit chaotic but this is their green space and they were enjoying it.Read more
