We always knew that today was going to be a long day of driving and it sure was. But what an area to drive through, great big mountains, desert, yes desert in Canada. The shadow of the fires is still apparent and when we saw some photos of Oregon realised how bad things can be for some time. We are totally safe but we can see the impact of the fires in the south up here. Before we set off on our long drive we decided to visit the Othello tunnels, tunnels that were built to get the railway from east to west. An amazing feat of engineering and when you see them , wow. Well in true Bev and Tig style our 1km walk ended up being 5.5km, not because we got lost but decided to go over the Hill... Over the Hill for us was more like a very steep hill but very pretty. The township of Hope was really sweet with lots of wood carvings, including one dedicated to a royal Canadian mounted dog. ..
