Day 4: Machu Pichu: The lost City

We stayed overnight at the Augusto Urubamba and woke upto a beautifully manicured garden and a wide variety of flowers. We proceeded to have breakfast at the hotel and the staff surprised me with a birthday cake and sang. After breakfast we boarded the shuttle to the Train station called Ollantaytambo heading to Machu Pichu. The train ride was a little over 1.5 hrs with beautiful views of the mountains and river. The train was the Voyager with excellent views and dining service. Upon reaching Machu Pichu, we boarded a bus that took us up the mountain to the lost city. We had an incredible day, Roger was our tour guide and was amazing . The Gods were kind as we had no rain and enjoyed very pleasant weather. Tour was from 2 pm to about 4:30. We now did the opposite and took a bus to the train station, boarded the train and then a shuttle to return to the hotel.Leggi altro
